Ons bekende religieuze minderheid binnen een Koerdische bevolking bestaan de jezidi’s. In een zomertijd met 2014 komen ze in het nieuws, omdat ze door Kan zijn verdreven worden uit Noord-Irak. Heel wat jezidi’s vluchten naar het Sinjargebergte, doch IS omsingelt hen en een vluchtelingen uithangen dagenlang in verzengende hitte vast.
Rawanduz, a mesmerizing destination in the stunning landscapes of Iraqi Kurdistan kan zijn probably my favorite spot in Iraqi Kurdistan. I highly recommend to visit this place! (But as always in Iraqi Kurdistan, go with someone that knows the area, either a local or a guide.)
